Reiki is an energy-based technique that does not involve manipulating bones or tissues. Reiki is also NOT a massage therapy. A Reiki practitioner does not give his/her personal energy over to the client. He/she serves as a channel, funneling universal life energy through his/her body to the recipient. It is much like the delivery boy delivering a package on your doorstep. The Reiki package is delivered, the delivery boy goes home fully intact.
To undergo a session can feel like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method and is for everyone, any age and pregnant women.
You will arrive in a relaxing atmosphere where I have dimmed lights, meditative music and an essential oil diffuser. If you prefer not to have an essential oil scent in the room, please communicate this when you make the appointment.
I will ask you to lie down on the massage table where you will be fully clothed except for your shoes. I will ask to remove or loosen your belt so that your breathing is not restricted in any way. It is best to choose loose-fitting clothing to wear on the day of your appointment. I will also ask you, if possible, to remove any jewelry (rings, bracelets and watches) prior to the session, so consider leaving these items at home.
During the session I will place my hands lightly on different parts of your body. The first session I will follow a predetermined sequence of hand placements, allowing my hands to rest on each body placement for 3 minutes before moving on to the next. The following sessions I may change the sequence and the amount of time I rest my hands on each body part. The energies will flow where they are supposed to anyway. If you prefer not to be touched I will have my hands a few inches above your body. Please communicate this before we start the session. Last but not least; here are the 12 basic hand placements (but I will add a couple more like ears, knees and feet);
