Tibetan Bowl Healing
How Tibetan singing bowls affect our body?
Sound therapy with Tibetan singing bowls is an ancient form of regeneration. The first bowls were made from an alloy of various metals and were used already 6000 years ago in the Far East. The sound of Tibetan singing bowls and the gong harmonizes and allows deep relaxation of both sides of the brain. It stimulates stress relief on all levels and the elimination of toxins from the body. After sound therapy emotions are calm and the mind clearer, and the sound vibrations have effect on the body after the singing bowls have been played on it.
The bowl sings ‘Ohm’, which revives the basic DNA codes and activates the codes that we haven’t yet perceived or we had suppressed till now. Tibetan singing bowls are one of the strongest musical instruments for healing with sound therapy and vibrations. They are called singing bowls because their exotic sound continues to float for a long time after we have played on them.

What does science say?
Scientific studies have proven that Tibetan singing bowls produce specific waves. Scientific analyses of electromagnetic brainwaves have confirmed the existence of clearly recognizable waves, which are connected to different states of consciousness. It is known that the brain in its normal state, i.e. in everyday conscience, produces beta waves.
Alpha waves are present in the states of meditation and calm consciousness. Theta waves are typical for the state of slumber, whereas delta waves are present only during deep sleep. When the waves produced by singing bowls were recorded, scientists discovered wave patterns which were the same as the alpha waves produced by our brain. These waves give a feeling of deep relaxation.
There have been cases with people with cancer being healed by sound and frequency therapies, like ultrasound in combination with meditation and mindfulness.
Are there any potential side effects or risks to receive a Sound healing session with singing bowls?
There’s not much research done on specifically this topic. There are some words of caution for the following people:
-A person that has implants/pacemakers/rods/metals in the body
-A person that easily gets migraines
-A person prone to seizures or is epileptic
-A person who is allergic to a specific metal the bowl holds
-Pregnant women (especially influencing the baby)
-Women who want to become pregnant
It doesn’t mean they are not able to receive and enjoy a Sound healing session, the bowls simply won’t be put on the body and played on a safe distance from the body.
“I felt incredibly peaceful and relaxed, deeply meditative and content. The treatment felt too short. With the bowls applied directly to the body, I could feel the sound go right through me. Tightness or resistance, along with my associated pain or discomfort, just melted away.”
“I read about Tibetan Bowl Healing but had not actually experienced it myself until a session with Marielle. Although the session was physically relaxing, it was my mind that found rest. The best way to describe the experience is to say my brain was able to be present and be calm. This experience was separate from a physical relaxation like a massage because it enabled me to be mentally at ease; literally enabled a brain that does not stop to find peace. As of this review, it has been about a week since the session and I find I have more clarity on the environment, especially getting organized. For example, things that need to be accomplished are viewed as manageable individual tasks, not an overwhelming pile of to-do’s that have no starting or endpoint. If you find it challenging to rest your brain, I would highly recommend requesting a Tibetan Bowl Healing from Marielle and give your mind a chance to be still.”
